A virtuous servant and a vessel of grace are a few characteristics of this vibrant woman of God. Mother Sherry L. Brown is the First Lady of Brown’s Temple F.B.H. Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. She has served faithfully, providing love and loyal support to her husband in ministry. She has a great passion for God’s Word and his people. Lady Sherry’s favorite inspirational scripture is Jeremiah 29:11(NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She believes that God is in control of our lives; we should diligently seek him with our whole hearts; no matter what circumstance may arise, we should not give up because God assures us (his people) of hope for the future.
With a servant’s heart, Lady Sherry has served in many areas of ministry on the local and district level of the Fire-Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas, Incorporated. On the local level, she is currently the church administrator, Directress of the Women’s Ministry, Church Mother, and Assistant Finance Secretary. On the District Level, Lady Sherry has served as South Florida District Young People Institute Supervisor (YPI), South Florida Directess of Religious Education (DRE), and South Florida District Secretary. She remains active in all aspects of church life, including a newly formed Women’s Bible Study Group that focuses on all women to grow spiritually in God. Lady Sherry loves God; and seeks to remain humble to be used as a servant to bless God’s people. She strives to be a positive influence in the lives of others.
Lady Sherry has worked as an educator for over 24 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and a Master’s from Barry University in Miami, Florida. Over the years, Lady Sherry has been a dedicated purpose-driven educator who has received numerous awards and accolades. She is a member of the Broward County Council Teachers of Mathematics, Broward Teachers Union, and the National Education Association and a proud member of the Chi Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is an advocate for education and public service and takes pride in giving back to her community.
Married to her “college sweetheart” and love of her life (Pastor Henry) for over 29 years, she counts as her greatest blessing from God their two adult children, Ansley Marie (20), who is pursuing a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychologist with an emphasis in Forensic, and Henry IV., (26) and his wife Mayah, and the gift of her adorable two-year-old granddaughter Naiomi. All are saved and serving in ministry.
Having been called to assist Pastor Henry with his God-given mandate, she holds fast to Hebrews 12:14 (NIV): Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
